What’s open and closed in Brockville this Victoria Day – Monday, May 20

The unofficial start of summer is coming up this weekend, with the Victoria Day holiday happening Monday, May 20. Here’s a look at what’s open and closed, and what local services are affected, in Brockville. Do you know of something notable that’s open that should be added to this list? Retail and activities

  • Walmart will be open 7 a.m. – 10 p.m.
  • Giant Tiger will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Food Basics will be open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Metro will be open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Real Canadian Superstore will be open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Most Shoppers Drug Mart locations will be open throughout the weekend for regular hours, but some may vary. Click here to search store hours in Brockville
  • All LCBOand Beer Store locations will be closed
  • The Brockville Aquatarium will be open all weekend, including Monday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • The Brockville Railway Tunnel re-opens for the season Friday, May 17, and will be open all weekend

Municipal Services

City of Brockville administrative offices will be closed on Monday, May 20 for the for Victoria Day long weekend.

This includes:

  • City Hall (1 King St. West)
  • Gord Watts Municipal Centre (251 North Augusta Rd.)
  • Wastewater Treatment Centre (1807 County Road 2 East)
  • Water Filtration Plant (20 Rivers Ave.)

City services and facilities long weekend changes:

  • Brockville Tourism – Visitor Information Centre (16 Market St. E.):
    Regular hours are 9 am to 5 pm every day seven days a week with some holiday exceptions such as:
    Open Monday May 20,10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
    Watch for Tourism Ambassadors out and about!
  • Waste and Recycling Collection:
    No service on Monday May 20, 2024
    Collection will be on the following day of your regular pick up. Please put out your items one day after your usual collection day for the week of May 20 to the 24.
  • Compost Site Gord Watts Municipal Centre (251 North Augusta Road):
    Closed Monday May 20
  • City Transit:
    No service on Monday May 20. Regular service resumes Tuesday May 21.
  • Brockville Arts Centre (235 King St. W.):
    Closed Monday May 20
  • Brockville Museum (5 Henry St.):
    Open Monday to Friday noon to 4 p.m. Now open Saturdays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
    Closed Sundays and closed Monday May 20
  • Brockville Public Library (23 Buell St.):
    Open Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and open Sunday noon to 4 p.m.
    Closed Mondays
