What’s open and closed in Brockville this Easter weekend

Believe it or not, Easter weekend is almost here. Friday, March 29 is Good Friday, and Sunday, March 31 Easter Sunday, both of which are statutory holidays, affecting many municipal services and store hours. Some government services also take the day off on Monday, April 1. Here’s what you need to know in Brockville.

RETAIL, RESTAURANTS, ACTIVITIES

  • Walmart will be closed Friday and Monday
  • Giant Tiger will be closed Friday and Monday
  • Food Basics will be closed Friday and Monday
  • Metro will be closed Friday and Monday
  • Real Canadian Superstore will be closed Friday and Monday
  • Most Shoppers Drug Mart locations will be open throughout the weekend for regular hours, but some may vary. Click here to search store hours in Brockville
  • All LCBOand Beer Store locations will be closed Friday and Monday
  • The Brockville Aquatarium will be open all weekend, including Friday and Sunday, and they’re hosting a special ‘Egg-cellent Easter Celebration,’ inviting visitors to enter “social media Easter egg hunt,” finding five eggs hidden around the building and posting picture with them on social media.   • The Brockville Museum will be closed Friday, March 29 to Sunday, March 31. It will be open Monday, April 1 from noon to 4 p.m.
  • The Brockville Public Library will be closed from Friday, March 29 until Monday, April 1, re-opening on Tuesday.
  • The Brockville Arts Centre will be closed from Friday, March 29 until Monday, April 1, re-opening on Tuesday.

MUNICIPAL SERVICES

  • City of Brockville administrative offices will be closed on Friday, March 29 and open on Monday, April 1, 2024, for the Easter long weekend. This includes City Hall, Gord Watts Municipal Centre (251 North Augusta Rd.), Wastewater Treatment Centre (1807 County Road 2 East) and Water Filtration Plant (20 Rivers Ave.)
  • The compost site at the Gord Watts Municipal Centre will also be open on Monday, April 1 from 2 to 7 p.m.
  • There will be no changes to the waste and recycling collection for the long weekend. Staff and crews are working on Monday, April 1. Please put out your items as you do on your regular collection day.
  • There will be no Brockville city transit service on Friday, and regular service the rest of the long weekend (9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday April 1.
