A Belleville woman has been charged with attempted murder after her partner was found in a west-end driveway covered in blood.
In a media release, Belleville police say that an off-duty officer was on their way home on Oct. 16 at about 8:30 p.m., when they observed a male lying in a driveway with puncture wounds to his chest and mid-section. Police state that there was “a large amount of blood in the driveway.”
Belleville Police Service Uniform Patrol, Forensics Identification Unit and Criminal Investigations Division all attended and began an investigation into the man’s injuries.
As a result of the investigation, a 27-year-old female from Belleville was arrested and charged with attempt murder, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and aggravated assault.
Charges have not been proven in court.
The 22-year-old injured male from Belleville was transported to Kingston General Hospital where he remains in stable condition.
The name of the accused is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.
The accused was held for a bail hearing.
