Two to hospital with serious injuries in car vs. motorcycle collision in Belleville

Police say that on May 15, at about 4:30 p.m., they joined firefighters and paramedics in responding to a car vs. motorcycle collision at the intersection of Dundas Street West and Sidney Street.

“At the time of the collision, there were two people in the car and two riders on the motorcycle,” the release states.

A 47-year-old female from the car was transported to Belleville General Hospital with minor injuries and later released.

Both riders on the motorcycle, a 56-year-old male and a 42-year-old female, both from Quinte West, suffered serious injuries. The male was transported directly to Kingston General Hospital. The female was initially transported to the Belleville General Hospital and later flown to Kingston General Hospital.

The intersection was closed for several hours while members of the Belleville Police Service’s Technical Collision Investigators Team and Collision Reconstructionist with the assistance of the Forensic Identification Services processed the scene.

The Belleville Police Service is seeking witnesses or anyone who has dash cam video of the accident. Witnesses or the owners of dash cam video are asked to contact Cst. Kanyo at rkanyo@bellevilleps.ca or 613-966-0882 x 4132. Police are continuing to investigate the collision.
