Three charged after $15,000 in stolen property recovered in Carleton Place

The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid charges against three individuals in connection to theft and possession of stolen property following an incident of shoplifting at a commercial property in Carleton Place on November 27, 2023.

Responding to a report of shoplifting, officers arrived at a business on McNeely Avenue in Carleton Place just before 3:30 p.m. on Monday to aid the store’s loss prevention officer in apprehending multiple theft suspects. Subsequent investigations led to the recovery of stolen property valued at over $15,000, believed to be linked to retail theft.

Kacper Ciuron, 24, from Scarborough, Bartlomiej Becmer, 37, and Grecian Goman, 31, both residents of Mississauga, each face charges of Theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Charges have not been proven in court.

The accused individuals are slated to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on January 8, 2024.
