Suspect facing multiple charges after theft of pickup from construction site

An Ottawa resident is facing multiple charges after a pick-up truck was stolen from a construction company parking lot in Lanark County.

In a media release, OPP report that on April 24, shortly before 9 a.m., officers in Lanark County received information of the theft. When asked by Lanarkist, PC Michael Fathi said police would not be revealing the location of the parking lot “as it gives away the victims information.”

Police say that he driver of the truck initially evaded officers, but was later located and arrested by members of the Ottawa OPP Detachment and the OPP’s Emergency Response Team.

Mickey Neal, age 38, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Theft of a Motor Vehicle
  • Dangerous Operation
  • Flight From Peace Officer
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000

Charges have not been proven in court.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
