On Friday, Sept. 22, at about 8:15 p.m., Belleville Police officers responded to the CP train tracks near Sidney Street; a nearby resident claimed they had observed a vehicle driving on the tracks and called 911.

Police contacted Canadian Pacific Railway and stopped all trains in the area, then located the vehicle still on the tracks.  They found an 86-year-old woman from Quinte West had damaged her vehicle after travelling about 100 meters on the tracks.

She was assisted at the scene by firefighters and paramedics.

No injuries were reported and the vehicle was removed from the tracks by a tow truck.
