A Florida man is facing an impaired driving charge after being stopped for speeding in downtown Belleville.

The Belleville Police Service states that at about 1:30 a.m. on April 17, an officer observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Dundas Street.

A stop occurred on Church Street near Bridge Street, and as a result of the roadside investigation, the officer arrested the driver for impaired driving.

The man was transported to the Belleville Police Service for further investigation. As a result, 27-year-old Juan Caicedo, of Florida, was charged with impaired driving and over 80.

Charges have not been proven in court.

He was released on an undertaking with a court date in May.
