Smiths Falls resident charged with impaired driving after collision

A Smiths Falls resident has been charged with impaired driving after a collision in Mississippi Mills.

A media release states that Lanark County OPP responded to a report of a car in the ditch on Blakeney Road in Mississippi Mills on Wednesday, May 15 at around 7:15 p.m.

After an approved roadside screening device was used by the officer, and as a result the driver was arrested and transported to the Carleton Place Detachment for further testing.

April LaForce, age 46, has been charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

This charge has not been proven in court.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on June 17. The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension) and vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
