Road rage incident in Belleville leads to charges after ‘intentional’ collision: police

A 73-year-old Quinte West man has been charged after what police are calling a road rage incident in Belleville.

In a media release, the Belleville Police Service reports that on April 1 at about 5 p.m., officers responded to a motor vehicle collision at Old Highway 2 and Mitchell Road in Belleville.

Police discovered two vehicles were involved in a collision, though both remained drivable and no injuries were reported.

Police say further evidence gathered revealed the collision was a result of a road rage incident.

“One of the drivers intentionally caused the collision,” police state.

As a result of the investigation, 73-year-old David Mitchell of Quinte West was charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. This charge has not been proven in court.

He was released on an undertaking with a court date in May.
