The Belleville Police Service responded to several calls from residents on South John Street regarding a disturbance late Thursday evening.

Concerned citizens reported “a man, wielding a rake,” who” was swinging it uncontrollably while walking between residences along the road,” police say in a media release.

Officers were dispatched to the scene and located the individual.

The 52-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested on charges of prowl by night and breach of probation.

He was apprehended and detained pending a bail hearing.
