Officers with the Belleville Police Service were summoned to a local hotel on North Front Street at approximately 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 6 following reports of a disturbance, prompted by a call from the hotel staff reporting an altercation between a couple.
Upon arrival, officers apprehended a 43-year-old woman of no fixed address on the grounds of an active warrant for failure to comply with an undertaking.
Present in the room was also a 66-year-old man, also without a fixed address, who was under instructions not to interact with the aforementioned woman.
The man was detained without resistance.
Both individuals were released from custody under certain conditions and are scheduled to appear in court on March 11.
Police say that, in order to safeguard the privacy of those involved, particularly in light of the domestic nature of the initial disturbance, the identities of the individuals have been withheld.
