Two Belleville residents were arrested and charged in relation to a drug investigation that took place on Wednesday, Jan. 3.
Police report that on Wednesday, a drug trafficking investigation named “Project Renewal” culminated in the execution of a Controlled Drug and Substances Act search warrant at a residence situated in the east end of the city. Two adults were apprehended and a small quantity of fentanyl was confiscated.
April Lawes-Bell, 36, from Belleville, faced charges of possession of a schedule one substance. She was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in February.
Wilfred Truscott, 33, also from Belleville, was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking a schedule one substance along with a separate charge of fail to comply with a probation order. He was released on an undertaking and is expected to appear in court in February.
Charges have not been proven in court.
