Belleville police say that serious but non-life threatening injuries occurred on Thursday, Oct. 13 as a result of a motorcycle vs. truck collision that took place in a busy commercial area of the city.
Police and emergency crews attended the area of Bell Boulevard near the entrance of the Quinte Mall around 6:15 p.m for a report of a two vehicle collision.
Police state their investigation revealed the motorcycle driver, a 58-year-old Belleville man, was travelling westbound on Bell Boulevard when the driver of a pickup truck heading eastbound turned into his path. He was transported to Kingston hospital with what was believed to be serious but non life-threatening injuries.
Police say the resulting collision caused “significant damage to” the motorcycle.
The driver of the truck, a 36-year-old Belleville man, was not injured. He was charged by Belleville Police with Turn Not in Safety under the Highway Traffic Act.
