A Stirling woman is facing several charges after she was reportedly observed “passing in and out of consciousness” with her “foot on the gas” of a parked vehicle in Belleville.
In a news release, Belleville Police state that on Oct. 20, at about 6:40 p.m., officers were called to the area of Front Street and Campbell Street in regards to a vehicle that had sustained obvious damage and was parked the wrong way on a one-way street. Callers reported a lone female driver, who appeared not entirely conscious, with her foot on the gas while the car was in parl/
Police and paramedics attended, and an investigation was conducted. Police say it was determined that the female was under the influence of street drugs. After being cleared medically, she was arrested and allegedly found to be in possession of cocaine and fentanyl.
Ashley Rappel, 36-years-old of Stirling, was charged with impaired operation by drug, possession of cocaine and possession of fentanyl.
Charges have not been proven in court.
She was released on an undertaking with a November court date.
