Residents of Quinte West are encouraged to let their Halloween creativity shine by adorning the outsides of their homes and enlisting as destinations on the City of Quinte West’s annual self-guided Halloween Home Boo Tour taking place this October.

It’s time to dust off your Halloween decorations and transform your dwelling, be it your house, balcony, front porch, yard, or any part of your residence, into a captivating Halloween spectacle. Whether it’s eerie haunted houses, enchanting fairy-tale forests, mysterious ghostly lights, or spooky elements like ghosts, goblins, and graveyards – all are welcome!

Every residence featured on the Halloween Home Boo Tour will automatically become contenders in the Boo Tour Community Contest. Attendees of the tour are encouraged to cast their votes for the ‘spookiest’ home and the ‘most spirited’ home. Winners in each category will be rewarded with a $300 gift card to a local business of their choosing within Quinte West. This year’s Boo Tour is also introducing an exciting new element: Winners from each ward category (Trenton, Sidney, Murray and Frankford) will receive a $150 gift card to a local Quinte West business of their preference.

You can register your residence for the tour here.

Please note that this is exclusively an outdoor decorating competition. All decorations should be easily visible from the road. For the safety and respect of participants, tour attendees must refrain from stopping or parking along the roadway, entering private driveways, or trespassing on private property during the tour. The lighting displays will be illuminated nightly from 6 to 11:30 p.m.

For those interested in a guided tour experience, Quinte Transit will be conducting tours on Saturday, Oct. 21, and Saturday, Oct. 28, from 7 to 9 p.m. To inquire or make a reservation, please contact Quinte Transit at 613-392-9664.

Stay tuned for updates. The municipality of Quinte West will soon release a list and map featuring all participating homes. Voting will commence on Tuesday, Oct. 17, and will remain open until Wednesday, Nov. 1.

The city says details will be made available shortly.
