Quinte West firefighter brings home medals at international FireFit competition

Senior Fire Prevention Officer Greg King from the Quinte West FireFit team showcased outstanding skill at the recent Firefighter Challenge World Championships in Stuart Beach, Florida.

The championships, held from October 3 to 8, gathered 350 athletes from 17 countries, making it the largest such event in the sport’s history.

Competing alongside teammates from Hamilton, ON, Longueuil, QC, and Ontario Power Generation, King contributed significantly to Quinte West’s victory, securing their fourth World Championship title. In the Team Relay (Over 50) category, King clinched a gold medal, displaying exceptional teamwork. He also earned a bronze medal in the Tandem Relay (Over 55) and finished fourth in the Individual (Over 55) category.

King’s achievements have brought pride to Quinte West, highlighting his dedication and skills in the global firefighting community.
