A report of a barricaded person in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory saw the Lennox and Addington (L&A) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Tyendinaga Police respond to Lower Slash Road shortly after noon on Monday, Dec. 18, 2023.
According to a release from the OPP, Tyendinaga Police were called to an assist Paramedic Services call on Lower Slash Road.
“Paramedic Services had received a medical alarm call at the residence and removed one injured person from the property. The person sustained minor injuries. As a result of this investigation, police said, a 35-year-old male, from Tyendinaga First Nation, was charged with:
- Two counts of assault causing bodily harm
- Forcible confinement
- Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
The OPP said the accused will be held for a bail hearing.
