Multiple thefts reported in Belleville’s Old East Hill neighbourhood

Belleville authorities responded to reports of multiple thefts in the residential area of Old East Hill on the morning of Wednesday, Nov. 15.

At approximately 11:20 a.m., police were summoned to a residence on John Street following an unsettling incident. Police say that an unidentified individual trespassed onto the property and absconded with various items. The homeowner disclosed that the intruder entered their backyard, pilfering a bicycle along with several children’s toys. Additionally, the alleged culprit rifled through multiple bags while on the premises.

Later in the day, around 1:20 p.m., another distress call reached the police, this time from a homeowner on George Street. The resident reported that unknown individuals had unlawfully entered their garage and made off with two wagons.

These incidents have sparked concerns about security and vigilance among residents, prompting a call for heightened awareness within the neighborhood to prevent further occurrences of such trespasses and thefts.
