A Tyendinaga woman who had been missing since Jan. 8, 2024 has sadly been located deceased.
“Michelle (last name withheld) has been located, but it was an outcome no one wanted,” Tyendinaga Police confirmed in a statement on the afternoon of Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024. “The Tyendinaga Police wish to express heartfelt condolences to Michelle’s family and the friends that stood by them.”
Police said they would not be providing any further details surrounding the death.
“The Tyendinaga Police would like to thank all those that assisted over the past month. A sincere thank you to over 120 community volunteers that donated their own time and their own equipment to help search and bring food,” Tyendinaga Police continued.
In addition to Tyendinaga Police, over 30 Ontario Provincial Police officers also assisted in the weeks-long missing person search, including flight crews, K-9 units, and search boats.
