Another fire in Stone Mills Township has been deemed suspicious in nature, according to the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
At approximately 1:33 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2023, officers from the L&A OPP and crews with the Stone Mills Fire Department responded to a garage fire in Stone Mills Township. Police did not say where specifically the fire occurred, but detailed that the fire spread from the garage to the house, causing some damage.
“No one was injured,” the L&A OPP said in a press release around 10:30 a.m. the same day.
“It is unknown at this time if the fire is related to the October 23 fires.”
Those fires were the ones that occurred in the early morning hours of Monday, Oct. 23, 2023 – one at the Lennox Agricultural Memorial Community Centre in Napanee, the other at a residence in Stone Mills Township – a home of Lennox Agricultural Society’s secretary-treasurer. Both of those fires have been deemed suspicious, and are currently under investigation by the OPP and the Ontario Fire Marshal.
According to the L&A OPP, the Ontario Fire Marshal has been called in to investigate this more recent Stone Mills Township fire, as well.
“Police are seeking the public’s assistance and ask that if you or someone you know has information concerning the fires to contact the Lennox and Addington County OPP,” police said.
