Fatal collision in Stone Mills Township after vehicle collides with rock cut on County Road 6

One person has died following a single vehicle collision Wednesday afternoon in Stone Mills Township.

Police state that on Sept. 27, at approximately 1:40 p.m., emergency response teams from the L&A County OPP, L&A County Paramedic Services, and Stone Mills Fire and Rescue responded to a collision on County Road 6. Evidence indicates that a vehicle veered off the road at a high rate of speed, colliding with a rock cut. Tragically, the sole occupant of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the accident scene.

According to Constable Daniel Brooks of the L&A OPP, the collision occurred just north of Petworth Road in the Colebrook area.

Police have not yet released the name of the deceased.

The investigation is ongoing, with the OPP’s technical collision investigators and collision reconstructionists providing support.
