The Bay of Quinte Skyway Bridge is set to remain in a single-lane configuration until the spring of 2024, with traffic control facilitated by traffic signals.

This decision comes as part of ongoing efforts by the Ministry of Transportation and its contractor, GIP (formerly Aecon), to rehabilitate the bridge.

During this period, the contractor will focus on finalizing crucial tasks, including the erection of girders, placement of concrete decks, installation of barrier walls, asphalt paving, and approach grading work.

The rehabilitation project, initiated in the summer of 2018, is projected to reach completion by the summer of 2024. The aim is to enhance the structural integrity and overall condition of the bridge, ensuring its long-term functionality and safety.
