UPDATE: OPP release names of 3 area residents charged in Quinte West kidnapping investigation

Police in Quinte West have arrested three people in relation to a kidnapping situation.

On Wednesday, November 22, around 12:30 p.m. on Myers Creek Road in Quinte West, officers responded to a motor vehicle collision.

Police state in a media release that during their investigation, they found that one individual involved in the collision had been forcibly confined against their will by a group of assailants who allegedly fled the scene after the crash.

To address this situation, officers activated specialized units, including the Emergency Response Team, Tactics and Rescue Unit, Canine Unit, and Aviation Services, to assist in the search and resolution of the case. Their efforts led to the arrest of three suspects.

Police did not name the individuals, or specify the charges.

Police say there is no risk to public safety.

Earlier in the day on Nov. 22, the area around Aikens Road, Whites Road, & Myers Creek Road was closed to traffic for this active police investigation.
