72-year-old driver charged after pedestrian struck in Belleville

A driver faces a highway traffic act charge after hitting a pedestrian in Belleville.

In a media release, the Belleville Police Service reports that at about 7:20 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 24, police and paramedics responded to a report of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Pinnacle Street and Victoria Avenue.

“The pedestrian was assessed by EMS and then transported to the Belleville General Hospital with minor injuries,” Belleville police report.

As a result of police investigation, a 72-year-old driver was charged with making an improper turn under the Highway Traffic Act and issued a Provincial Offence Notice.
