The Belleville Police Service recently charged a young driver with stunt driving in the city.
In a media release, police report that on Jan. 4, at about 10 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle on North Front Street that was travelling at a high rate of speed. Police say the vehicle also had expired licence plates; in addition, further investigation revealed that there was no insurance on the vehicle.
As a result, the 21-year-old driver who was also the registered owner of the vehicle was charged with stunt driving, operating a motor vehicle with no insurance and having expired plates.
The driver was issued a summons with a traffic court date in March 2024.
