Prince Edward County residents in the Athol Ward are invited to a public information meeting regarding a development proposal for 41 Willow Lane, also known as Allswell Resort, on Thursday, March 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. The meeting will be held at Athol Town Hall, located at 1685 County Road 10.

An amended application for a Zoning By-law Amendment has been received by the County to facilitate the redevelopment of 41 Willow Lane. The proposed changes include:

  • 11 tourist cabins
  • A motel featuring 12 guest rooms
  • Rental of un-motorized watercraft
  • Construction of a barn for dry storage
  • Various accessory uses such as a clubhouse, boat launch, boat docks, pool, bar, and washrooms

Special provisions will be made to accommodate existing buildings on the site and adhere to lot dimensions. Materials related to the application are available for viewing on the County’s website.

It’s important to note that this public meeting serves solely as an information session. Such meetings are integral to the updated planning application process.

During the meeting, the proponent or their representative will present the proposal. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions or provide comments following the presentation.

The statutory public meeting mandated by the Planning Act will be convened by the Planning Committee. This meeting will occur after the public information session and the completion of a project analysis by the assigned County planner.

For inquiries regarding the meeting’s location or format, individuals are encouraged to contact Scott Pordham, Policy Planning Coordinator, at 613.476.2148 extension 2024 or via email at spordham@pecounty.on.ca.
