Prince Edward County resident charged with sexual assault

OPP in Prince Edward County have arrested and charged a local suspect with sexual assault, following a report issued on Wednesday, June 11.

A media release explains that officers conducted an investigation and made an arrest later that day.

As a result, Jake Stevens, 37, of Prince Edward County has been charged with:

  • Sexual assault
  • Theft under $5000
  • Fail to comply with a probation order

Charges have not been proven in court.

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton.

“The OPP will not release any further details in order to protect the identity of the victim,” the release explains.
