Police investigating vandalism depicting racial slurs, profanity in Carleton Place

OPP in Carleton Place are looking for suspects following several incidents of offensive graffiti around town.

In a June 10 media release, police describe the vandalism as “spray-painted tags and messages, many of them including profanity, racial slurs and other offensive terms.”

The incidents were reported at locations around the community on Saturday morning. Police say many of these locations are places frequented by young children and families.

“Vandalism is a crime and those responsible can face mischief charges,” police state.

If anyone has any information, or has relevant dashcam or doorbell video, they should contact the Lanark County OPP at 1-888-310-1122. If someone wants to provide information, but remain anonymous, they should call Lanark County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
