Perth residents are invited to participate in the town’s annual clean-up event, the Trashure Hunt, set to take place on Saturday, April 20, 2024.

Organized by a team of dedicated volunteers and sponsored by the Town of Perth and Climate Change Advisory Panel, the event aims to beautify the town while fostering community engagement in an enjoyable, family-friendly setting.

Event organizer Sadie Brule said the event is about bringing the community together and promoting environmental stewardship.

“Spring is here, and it’s the perfect time to shake things up and clean up our incredible town together,” Brule remarked. “The Trashure Hunt is all about getting the wonderful people of Perth together, making new friends, learning more about amazing local eco-friendly organizations, and learning to love our planet a bit more. We welcome everyone to join the fun!”

Scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at 1 p.m., participants will gather at the Bandshell to receive their clean-up kits before dispersing throughout the town to collect litter. Following the clean-up efforts, the community will reconvene at Market Square for refreshments and the opportunity to engage with various eco-friendly organizations. Volunteers will also have the chance to win prizes as part of the event.

Residents interested in participating in the Trashure Hunt are encouraged to register for the event and obtain further information by visiting perth.ca/trashurehunt.
