Paid parking will resume in Picton starting today (April 2, 2024), affecting both street parking in the downtown core and the Market Lane parking lot.

Payment will be required from Monday to Friday, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., excluding holidays, from April 1 to November 30, the County explains in a media release.

Drivers will find pay and display parking stations approximately 20 metres apart along the streets. These stations accept various forms of payment, including coins, credit cards, and non-PIN debit cards, with payment instructions clearly displayed.

Alternatively, motorists can pay using the Passport Parking App on their mobile devices. The app’s website provides further details and allows for app download.

A two-hour maximum parking limit is enforced for street parking, though this rule does not apply to spaces in Market Lane. However, the County explains that the pay and display parking station in Market Lane is presently undergoing repairs. During this time, parking enforcement will not be carried out in the immediate vicinity of this station. The repairs are expected to be completed by mid-April.

For those seeking free parking options, limited spaces are available in municipal lots at 55 King Street and on Mary Street in Picton. Additionally, as of April 1, a two-hour parking limit has been implemented in the commercial area of Wellington, while parking remains free in Wellington and Bloomfield.
