OPP investigating hit-and-run in Trenton in which pedestrian sustained serious injuries

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Quinte West Detachment has launched an investigation into a hit-and-run collision in Trenton that resulted in a pedestrian being struck and sustaining injuries.

The incident, which occurred on Friday, Nov. 17 around 7:40 p.m., prompted a response from the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) and Forensic Identification Services (FIS). Additionally, Quinte West Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were dispatched to the intersection of 2nd Dug Hill Road and Appledene Drive following reports of a vehicle striking a pedestrian and leaving the scene. The injured pedestrian was transported to Toronto for urgent medical attention due to sustaining serious injuries.

According to preliminary reports, the vehicle involved was last observed heading southbound on 2nd Dug Hill Road and has been identified as a Black Chevrolet Sedan. Police say the vehicle sustained damage, particularly the removal of its passenger-side mirror.

As the investigation remains underway, authorities urge anyone with relevant information about the incident or the individuals responsible to reach out to the OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Those preferring to provide information anonymously can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS). Informants may be eligible for a cash reward, enhancing the incentive for cooperation in solving the case.
