A new resort called Allswell Resort is being proposed for the site of the former Cribs Resort in Prince Edward County.

The County will host a public information meeting on Monday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. at the Waring Hall, Waring House, 395 Sandy Hook Road, Picton. The meeting concerns planning application Z2-23, submitted by a developer seeking a Zoning By-law Amendment for the redevelopment of 41 Willow Lane in Athol Ward (i.e. the above mentioned property).

The proposal aims to amend the existing Special Tourist Commercial (TC-19) Zone to allow for the construction of 12 tourist cabins, a tourist inn with 10 bedrooms, non-motorized boat rentals, docks, a boat launch, a gift shop, a mobile restaurant, and a resort establishment for up to 100 additional guests. The application also acknowledges the preservation of existing buildings on the site.

Detailed information about the application, including plans and supporting documents, is available for review on the County’s website at https://www.thecounty.ca/z2-23-tens-of-east-lake-allswell-resort/.

The public meeting is an information session where the proponent or their representative will present the proposal. After the presentation, members of the public can ask questions or provide comments related to the project.

The statutory public meeting required by the Planning Act will take place at a Planning and Development Committee meeting after the information session. This meeting will occur once the County’s assigned planner completes a comprehensive analysis of the redevelopment project.
