More than 50 cows saved in Christmas Day barn fire near Belleville

In the early morning hours of Monday, Dec. 25, Belleville FIre and Emergency Services responded to a fully involved barn fire on Boundary Road.

In a post to X, firefighters said that the “call came in just after 2:30 a.m. Christmas Day.”

They explained that the origin of the fire came as a result of farm tractor electrical issues; the cause was listed as accidental.

The farm’s milking operations barn and more than 50 dairy cows were saved by firefighters, however the damage is estimated to be over $500,000.

Thankfully, the owners have insurance, according to the firefighters’ post to X.
