Mischief charge laid after customer reportedly smashes window at Belleville business

A 36-year-old man was arrested in Belleville early Thursday following an altercation inside a downtown business.

The incident, which Belleville police say occurred around 1:20 a.m., involved a customer who smashed a window before fleeing the scene. Officers were summoned to the business and promptly located the suspect nearby. Police did not name the business that was affected.

As a result of this incident, Brad Barriage, 36, of no-fixed-address, was apprehended without resistance.

He has been charged with mischief under $5,000. This charge has not been proven in court.

Barriage was released from custody on an undertaking, with a scheduled court appearance set for April 4, 2024.
