Man attempts to flee from Brockville courthouse after being sentenced

A 37-year-old man is facing an additional charge after attempting to flee from the Brockville courthouse following being sentenced for previous crimes.

The Brockville Police Service says that on May 31,at about 11 a.m., the man appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville, to receive sentencing in relation to the charges of Impaired driving and uttering threats.

Police say that after being sentenced to a term of custody, the male attempted to flee the from the courthouse.

“Special Constables were able give chase and contain the subject,” a media release reads.

He was taken into custody and additionally charged with escape lawful custody, before being transported to the Brockville Jail.
