Environment Canada has put most of the Lanark, Leeds and Grenville area under a winter storm warning.
As of late in the morning on Friday, Jan. 12, 10 to 20 cm of snow was in the forecast for the Brockville area, and 15 to 25 cm for Lanark County.
The weather event is expected to start Friday evening and end Saturday morning.
For the Brockville area, the snow is supposed to transition to rain Saturday morning; snow is expected to continue, though more lightly, in the Lanark County area by the morning.
“Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow,” Environment Canada warns. “Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow.”
