Celebrated Canadian musician Ron Sexsmith will perform at the Carleton Place Canoe Club on Dec. 2 as part of the Festival of Small Halls.
Ron Sexsmith is a highly regarded Canadian singer-songwriter known for his heartfelt lyrics, melodic sensibility, and soulful voice. Born in St. Catharines, Sexsmith started playing guitar at an early age and began writing songs in his teenage years. His music is often characterized by its introspective and emotionally resonant nature, drawing inspiration from folk, pop, and rock influences.
Sexsmith’s career gained momentum in the 1990s when he released his self-titled debut album in 1995. The album received critical acclaim, showcasing his exceptional songwriting skills and distinctive voice. His sophomore album, “Other Songs” (1997), further solidified his reputation as a gifted songwriter. Over the years, Sexsmith has released numerous albums, each showcasing his ability to craft poignant and relatable songs.
Sexsmith completed work on a brand new album, released in early 2023, is in keeping with his reputation for catchy but graceful melodies, drawing on love, and the trials of everyday life.
He currently lives in Stratford, Ontario and continues to be inspired to write, record and perform live worldwide.
