Perth Mayor Judy Brown has declared a temporary leave of absence due to health reasons, effective immediately.
At the council meeting held on Tuesday, Jan. 30, a resolution was passed, granting the mayor temporary leave and designating Deputy Mayor Ed McPherson as acting mayor for the duration of her absence.
“I have the best interests of the town and the citizens at heart, and I have every confidence in the deputy mayor to fill in for me in my absence,” Mayor Brown stated during the meeting.
While on leave, Mayor Brown will engage in remote participation in meetings to remain updated on town matters.
“Council and staff offer their full support and wish her well in her recovery,” states a media release from the town.
