For those looking for fun and family-friendly ways to get into the holiday spirit, the town of Perth is hosting “Once Upon a Christmas” on Nov. 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This immersive event, hosted by the Downtown Heritage Perth BIA promises magical festive encounters and “surprises around every corner.”
The Downtown Perth BIA Facebook event offered the following description for the occasion.
“Explore the vendor marketplace where you’ll discover unique gifts and treats. Stay warm and cozy with scattered fire pits and free hot chocolate. Enjoy a horse-drawn wagon ride through town, take a photo with Santa, get your face painted, and take part in so many other activities!”
The idyllic scene will be one where locals and vendors alike can interact with their community, shop for unique goods and enjoy all the yuletide season has to offer. The event is sure to entertain the whole family. Parents can check a few items off their Christmas shopping list, while children can say hello to jolly old Saint Nick and even take a photo with him.
Some destinations to visit throughout the day are Mistletoe Market, Candy Cane Lane, The Perkins Building, Code’s Mill, and The Crystal Palace. In response to Lanarkist inquiries, the Downtown Heritage Perth BIA confirmed that the entire event will be free to attend and there is no pre-registration required. When asked where attendees should go for lunch, the BIA explained that “there won’t be any food vendors, however, there are a ton of restaurants in our cozy downtown where attendees can stop in or make a reservation!”
While “Once Upon a Christmas” will be utilizing a large section of downtown Perth, the official location for the event is listed as the Downtown Heritage Perth BIA at 6 Gore St. E for those travelling from out of town.
