The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has launched an investigation following the discovery of a body near Pakenham.
In a media release, police state that on Nov. 12, at approximately noon, officers responded to a distressing report of a female found in a body of water in the vicinity of Pakenham. Police say the identity of the individual remains unknown, and authorities are withholding further details pending the ongoing investigation.
Collaborating in the inquiry are members of the Lanark County Detachment, the Lanark County Crime Unit, and OPP Forensic Identification Services. This joint effort is being conducted in partnership with the Office of the Chief Coroner and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service as they work towards uncovering the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
