Lanark OPP looking for information after elderly woman struck by vehicle in downtown Perth


Police are looking for information after an 81-year-old woman was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle in downtown Perth.

In a media release, Lanark County OPP say they are investigating the incident, which occurred just after 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, on Foster Street near Wilson.

Police say that the woman “was walking through the parking area adjacent to the street as a car was backing up. The vehicle hit the woman and she ended up under the vehicle.”

The woman was transported to an Ottawa trauma centre by Lanark County Paramedics for treatment. Police say that while her injuries are serious, they are considered non-life-threatening.

The OPP East Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team is assisting with the investigation.
