Incident at Picton convenience store leads to weapons charges


A Napanee resident is facing weapons charges after an incident in Picton over the weekend.

Prince Edward County OPP report that shortly after midnight on Sunday, June 2, officers received a report of a man with a gun at a convenience store on Paul Street in Picton.

After arresting the man, police discovered he was in possession of a replica firearm, which looked like a handgun.

As a result, Stephen Beaudrie, 38, of Napanee, has been charged with:

  • Possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Carrying a concealed weapon
  • Fail to comply with a probation order – three counts.

Charges have not been proven in court.

The accused was released from custody following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on June 26.
