Four Quinte West residents charged, drugs and weapons seized in Trenton drug bust

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Quinte West Detachment has apprehended four individuals following the execution of a search warrant in Trenton.

At approximately 5:30 a.m. on Jan. 11, the OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) collaborated with the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) to carry out a search warrant at a residence on Whites Road, Quinte West. The operation resulted in the arrest of four individuals, alongside the confiscation of a quantity of suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine. Additionally, authorities seized cash, imitation firearms, and other weapons during the operation.

Facing charges, Roger Baker, a 50-year-old from Quinte West, was accused of possession for the purpose of trafficking in both methamphetamine and opioids.

Katelynn Harpell, 28, Brian Vachon, 39 and Ashley Ewanchek, 36, all residents of Quinte West, were charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking in methamphetamine and opioids. Furthermore, Vachon faces additional charges of possession of proceeds of crime and failing to comply with a probation order, while Ewanchek faces charges of failing to comply with a release order.

Charges have not been proven in court.

Following their apprehension, Roger Baker was released from custody and is slated to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on a future court date, while the other three accused were held for a bail hearing.
