Delays on Highway 401 near Napanee caused by collision involving school bus

A multi-vehicle collision involving a school bus caused delays this morning on Highway 401 in Napanee.

According to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the collision involved two transport trucks, two passenger vehicles, and a school bus, and took place around 9:15 a.m. in the westbound lanes between Palace Road and County Road 41.

“There were no students on the bus at the time of the collision,” the OPP detailed in a social media post.

Traffic was routed off the westbound lanes at Palace Road, but at 9:54 a.m. one westbound lane was reopened.

“Only minor injuries to two people. One lane of the westbound 401 is opening with traffic moving slowly.”

The OPP said drivers should expect delays until all vehicles are removed from the road.
