Are you a local creator eager to encapsulate the essence of Belleville through art? The City of Belleville has an opportunity for you.

The city is inviting proposals for an original art piece to be presented as mementos to distinguished guests. The initiative aims to provide a unique representation of Belleville to dignitaries, international visitors, and corporate delegates who frequent the city each year.

“We are always looking for ways to celebrate local culture,” said Elisha Purchase, investment attraction officer for the City of Belleville. “This project is a great opportunity to recognize the talent across our region and engage the artistic community while capturing the uniqueness of our beautiful city.”

Submissions are open to local artists and can encompass various mediums such as paintings, sculptures, graphic art, fibre art, printmaking, digital art, mixed media and photography. Artists are tasked with creating a piece that reflects and encapsulates the essence of Belleville. Each artist is limited to one submission, which must be an original work and suitable for travel.

The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, April 10, at 2 p.m. Interested artists can find detailed guidelines and submit their proposals at www.Belleville.ca/ArtProposal. For inquiries, contact ecdev@belleville.ca.
