If you’re looking for a way to get more use out of your Halloween pumpkins, look no further than the Mississippi Mills Pumpkin Promenade at 155 High St in Almonte.

The Neighbourhood Tomato Friendship Oven is inviting all pumpkin carvers to bring their art for a final display on Nov. 1. They will provide tealights for each pumpkin to create a large exhibition of carvings between 6 and 7 p.m. Anyone who arrives early can pay a donation and enjoy fresh oven-baked beans before the promenade begins.

This one-day event will be followed by more treats than tricks: the pumpkins will be picked up the next day to be sent to local farms to serve as feed for animals or as garden compost.
