Alexandra Daniel, a finance professional, from Carleton Place has claimed a $250,000 prize playing Instant Bingo Multiplier, courtesy of the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG).

Despite not being a regular player, Alexandra decided to try her luck with the scratch ticket as a tribute to her late mother, who had a fondness for the game.

“I planned a bingo night for my family to celebrate my mom, and I won on this ticket a week later,” she shared, reflecting on the emotional significance of her win at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.

Recounting the moment she realized she won, Alexandra recalled, “When I played the ticket, I noticed I was matching a lot of numbers. When I revealed number ‘065’, I said to my son, ‘I think I won!'” She admitted feeling a mixture of excitement and disbelief, adding, “This kind of thing doesn’t usually happen to me.”

Alexandra intends to allocate her windfall towards a down payment on a house, while also setting aside funds for a family trip to Ireland.

“It’s almost unreal,” Alexandra said. “I imagine how I feel right now is how my kids felt walking around Disney World!”

Instant Bingo Multiplier is priced at $10 per play, offers a top prize of $250,000, with odds of winning any prize standing at 1 in 3.59.

The winning ticket was purchased at Shoppers Drug Mart on McNeely Avenue in Carleton Place.
