Police in Brockville recently charged a local teen after a heated altercation led officers to discover he was in violation of several bail conditions.
On Saturday, Jan. 27, at around 9:30 p.m., the Brockville Police Service responded to a call reporting a potential fight involving a group of individuals in the vicinity of King Street West and Apple Street. Upon arrival, officers observed that the group had dispersed; however, their investigation revealed that an 18-year-old male had been attempting to initiate a physical altercation with another male.
Police say the 18-year-old, who had returned to his residence in the area, was found to be in violation of bail conditions prohibiting him from being outside of his residence while under the influence of alcohol. Officers located the individual and confirmed his consumption of alcohol. Additionally, he was discovered to be in possession of a crossbow, BB gun, and airsoft gun, which were in contradiction to the conditions of his bail.
The individual was taken into custody and subsequently released with a scheduled court appearance, having been charged with two counts of failing to comply with undertaking.
Police did not name the accused.
