Man arrested for trespassing, resisting arrest on Perth Street in Brockville

In the early hours of Nov. 3, Brockville police responded to a distress call from a resident on Perth Street, reporting the presence of her 30-year-old ex-boyfriend in her backyard, allegedly under the influence of drugs.

In a media release, police state that the situation escalated when it was discovered that the man was in violation of three separate probation orders, some of which prohibited him from contacting the female complainant.

Upon arrival, officers located the male subject, leading to his arrest. Police say the confrontation took a dangerous turn as the man attempted to flee and engage in physical altercations with the officers. Fortunately, police managed to regain control of the situation without any serious injuries sustained by anyone involved.

The arrested individual faces multiple charges, including trespassing by night, resisting arrest, and three counts of failing to comply with probation conditions. Charges have not been proven in court.

Police officers suspected that the man was under the influence of drugs at the time of his arrest.

The accused was taken into custody and is set to appear for a bail hearing, where his legal fate will be determined.
